The VALIC Assured Choice AnnuitySM is a multi-rate single-premium deferred fixed annuity with a market value adjustment. This product allows clients to allocate their single premium among a five year or seven year guaranteed interest rate periods. When a guaranteed interest rate period expires, that portion will automatically renew for a period of the same duration, unless the client contacts the company prior to the end of the period or within 30 days following the end of a term. The product was available for IRA, ROTH IRA, NQDA, or individual 403(b) plans.
There is a seven-year surrender charge period with a 10% free out after the first contract year. A market value adjustment also applies to any withdrawals made during any guaranteed rate period that exceeds the free withdrawal amount.
VALIC Assured Choice AnnuitySM has an indexed minimum guaranteed interest rate for the life of the contract. Interest rates are reviewed bi-weekly.
This product is approved in all states except DE and MN.
