How to enroll 

Enrolling in your retirement plan is easy!

SUS Optional Retirement Plan (SUS ORP) -- New participants 

If you are a new participant and would like to enroll in your ORP, you must follow the detailed instructions below: 

Step#1:

First, you must complete and turn in the State retirement forms.  

  • Access the State of Florida website to download the form. Scroll down to the bottom of the web page for forms. 
  • Depending on your status, complete one of these forms and follow the processing instructions:  
    • ORP Enroll-1 (For new participant enrollment)
    • ORP Change-1(Form to change approved vendor ie. if you want to enroll with Corebridge Retirement Services but are currently using another provider)
  • If you are a mandatory SUS ORP participant, you must complete the SUSORP Mandatory Participation Form. There are two types of mandatory SUSORP participants: (1) active employees filling faculty positions in the College of Medicine and (2) renewed members SUSORP eligible positions on and after July 1, 2017. Step#2:

Once you have completed Step #1, you will need to set up your account online with the help of a financial professional or an Enrollment Specialist. 

Step#3:

Once you have completed Step #2, you may enroll in your ORP online . You may enroll with the help of your financial professional, Enrollment Specialist or on your own. Access the link below to enroll.

Enroll in your optional retirement plan

SMS Optional Annuity (SMS OAP) -- New participants 

If you are a new participant and would like to enroll in your SMS OAP, you must follow the detailed instructions below: 

Step#1:

First, you must complete and turn in the State retirement forms.  

  • Access the State of Florida website to download the form. Scroll down towards the bottom of the page. 
  • Depending on your status, complete one of these forms and follow the processing instructions:  
    • SMS-1 (For new participant enrollment)
    • OAP-Change (Form to change approved vendor ie. if you want to enroll with Corebridge but are currently using another provider)

Step#2:

Once you have completed Step #1, you will need to set up your account online with the help of a financial professional or an Enrollment Specialist. 

Step#3:

Once you have completed Step #2, you may enroll in your SMS OAP online . You may enroll with the help of your financial professional, Enrollment Specialist or on your own. Access the link below to enroll.
